Denim Icons – Shania Twain

It’s impossible for me to think of country music without considering the influence Shania Twain has had on the genre. In the 90s she burst into mainstream with her flawless sophomore album The Woman In Me, which set the country music world on its head. Ms Twain became a bigger and stronger force with her subsequent releases as she took her unique form of country and mixed it with infectious pop stylings. Come On Over is a  standard album that needs to be part of anybody’s music collection. Shania’s talent has taken her to the top of the music world where she continues her reign as queen of the hill.

Apart from her musical prowess, Shania Twain is one of music’s top denim icons. During the 1990s Shania showcased her great sense of style by repping some classic looks, from her go-to of Levi’s jeans, to her advertisements for the great GUESS jeans brand. It is impossible to discuss Shania Twain’s denim style without mentioning her music video for “Any Man of Mine” from 1995’s The Woman In Me record. The video features Ms Twain repping Levi’s jeans and a denim vest, making it an iconic showcase of the power of double denim. The video equals the song itself in quality and power, and puts Shania in the upper echelon of denim icons. If you’ve been under a rock and have never seen the video, you can check it out here.

Please take some time to check out the gallery below. Shania’s new album Now will be released September 29, 2017.
